How sueldo neto in Spain is calculated
Spanish payroll deducts employee social security (around 6.47%) on a capped base, then withholds IRPF income tax on the combined state-plus-regional scale, running 19% to 47% across the brackets.
A personal minimum reduces the tax, and salaries are commonly paid over 14 instalments (two extra pay months), so the monthly figure divides by 14. Regions set the upper half of the scale, so Madrid and Cataluna differ slightly. Estimate, not tax advice.

Frequently asked questions
What is the net salary for 25,000 EUR in Spain?
On 25,000 EUR, social security takes about 6.47%, and IRPF is charged on the remainder at 19-30% across the first bands less the personal minimum. The calculator shows the exact net over 14 payments.
Why is the net divided by 14?
Many Spanish contracts pay 14 instalments a year, with extra pay in summer and December, so the monthly net is the annual net divided by 14.
Does the region change my IRPF?
Yes — the autonomous community sets the regional half of the scale, so the same gross nets slightly differently in Madrid, Cataluna and elsewhere.
